Application Information and Training

As a PCHAS volunteer, you will serve in ways that support administrative, program or funds development staff members. Each volunteer receives a role description outlining their general and specific responsibilities. All volunteers are required to complete the application process, which includes a criminal background check, negative Tuberculosis (TB) test and fingerprints. Additional required documents include:

  • Emergency contact information
  • A copy of current driver’s license
  • A copy of signed social security card
  • A copy of current automobile insurance liability card

*Ambassadors complete a separate application packet and training provided by the Senior Development Officer in your area, and are not required to submit all of the above information.

Training

All volunteers must complete the two-hour training session, which offers in depth information about our programs, the needs of our clients, the PCHAS Philosophy of Care and descriptions of the unique roles volunteers play within the life of PCHAS. There is no cost for training.  In whatever area you choose to volunteer your time, expertise and energy, you will be supervised by a designated program staff person who will provide direction and feedback. Volunteers in every capacity are greatly appreciated by PCHAS and the children and families we serve.

Please contact Jennifer Quintero-Pitts, Coordinator of Volunteers, at 210.548.2114 or
