Services for Former Residents

Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services (PCHAS) provides several programs for former residents of their Group Homes. Two of these programs, the Transitional Living Program and the Advanced Education Program, help former residents make a successful transition to independent living, apply to college and adjust to college or the workforce.

The Transitional Living Program serves former residents ages 18 to 25; the Advanced Education Program serves former residents 18 and older.

The Transitional Living Program

When they “age out” of the foster care system at age 18, many youth are ill-prepared for the real world. Many times, they end up unemployed and homeless. PCHAS helps young men and women facing challenges and difficult times of transition by providing a safe residential environment in which they can grow, increase life skills and achieve self-sufficiency. The Advanced Education Program

Our team of dedicated staff members and tutors offer consistent and skilled support by mentoring, tutoring and advocating for the children in our care. After a child leaves our Group Homes at age 18, they are welcome to come back at any time and get additional education-related counseling.
