Another school year draws to a close, meaning it's time for graduation. We are so excited for each and every one of our graduates and what their future holds. We want you to get a glimpse of the amazing young men and women we have had the privilege of getting to know through our Group Home Program, in their own words. This week, get to know Zion.

What year/grade did you come into PCHAS’ care?

Third grade

What are your plans after graduation?

I will attend Navarro just to get the feel of college; college might not be for me.

Are you currently employed or were you employed in the past? If so, where do you work? What do you do? What do you like about it?

I’ve been working since sophomore year as a waitress. I like the job; I like to socialize with people.

Are you involved in sports or other extracurricular activities at school? Which ones?

I am in the choir. There’s not much time for a lot of extracurricular activities while I’m working.

What are your interests outside of school (could be a hobby, church group)? What church activities have you participated in (Vacation Bible School, youth choir, etc.)?

I’m not gone to church as much lately because of work, but the people there are lovely.

Have you won any awards or received other honors at work, school, church or the community?

Technically, no; but I’d like to think I’m a good student; my teachers tell me so.

What are you known for (could be a personality trait, flair for acting or art, musical talent, athletics, academics) by your friends and housemates?

I love everything artistic.

What/who will you miss the most when you leave (school, church camp, mentors, Home Parents?)

Being here for so long (since 3rd grade), I have seen many people come and go, so most of the people I’d miss are already gone. The office staff is awesome though!

What else is interesting about you that you think we should know? What are some of your favorite things in the world (favorite animal, food, place, day of the year, holiday, movie, book, event, etc.)?

I’m not super involved in the Home anymore due to the fact that the average age is getting younger. But I do enjoy hanging out with my friends and my boyfriend.

Make sure to stay tuned to meet our other graduates!
