PCHAS In the News

PCHAS has been in the news quite a bit lately – in Austin and in Houston.

A feature article on PCHAS’ single parent family program appeared in the Houston Chronicle on Sunday, November 21. Click here to read.

In addition to the Chronicle article, earlier this month, PCHAS was covered in several KXAN-TV newscasts. View the newscasts here and here.

KXAN-TV featured PCHAS foster family, Kris and Eric Calder, and Regional Director Scott Waller who, with Church Engagement Coordinator Blaine Hamilton, made presentations about Mission 1:27 and my faith FAMILY at a summit organized by Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick. Patrick asked the leaders of the State’s faith-based organizations to step up and help save a failing foster care system. He addressed nearly 300 at a summit at the State Capitol on Wednesday.

Mission 1:27 and my faith FAMILY are PCHAS initiatives to empower faith communities to call individuals and families to action as foster parents and then organize additional volunteers to surround those foster parents with unparalleled support as “villagers.” You can learn more about both of these initiatives at befosterproud.org.

PCHAS was mentioned in the Texas Observer as well. The article does not name PCHAS experts in the article, but clearly the reporter attended one of the talks by Scott Waller and Blaine. View the article here.

Congratulations to Scott, Blaine, the Calders, Raina Bailey and Celeste Ross for representing us well! Please share this blog post on your social media channels!
