Help a Child; Save a Generation! Designate your Pentecost Offering to PCHAS

In the Presbyterian tradition, congregations are invited to share 40% of their Pentecost Offering with a local service organization working with children at risk.  If your church plans to receive a Pentecost Offering, Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services (PCHAS) invites you to dedicate 40% of it to our ministry, since we work with more than 3,000 at-risk children every year. Children like Gabriel.

Gabriel was brought to us by Child Protective Services. He was hungry and needed something to eat.  Malnourished and unable to look anyone in the eye, our caring staff provided Gabriel with a meal and, over time, gained his trust. They learned that Gabriel had run away from a violent home.  His father was gone and his mother regularly beat him whenever she was angry at him or frustrated with her own life.  Even though he was only 14 years old, she thought Gabriel should get a full-time job to support her drug addiction.
Gabriel was welcomed into one of our Group Homes and has begun healing physically, mentally and emotionally.  He is making excellent progress in school, and by the end of the year, will have caught up with his peers academically. He is now able to connect with people and is finally at a healthy weight.

We are called to help Gabriel and all of God’s children.
As your congregation prepares to celebrate the Church’s birthday, please consider designating 40% of this year’s Pentecost Offering to PCHAS.  Will you heed the call?   We invite you to become one of our PCHAS Pentecost Partners. Your support will make a big difference in the lives of at-risk children like Gabriel.
