Thankful for PCHAS, Former Group Home Resident Shows Gratitude

Jessica Venegas, former Group Home Resident

Jessica Venegas

PCHAS often receives handwritten thank-you notes from children in our care or children who have “aged-out”. We recently received a letter from Jessica Venegas. Jessica grew up at our group home campus in Waxahachie and recently graduated from Navarro College with an Associate degree in science. She now plans to continue her education by obtaining her nursing degree from The University of Texas at Arlington.

Read her thank-you note:

Dear Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services,

My name is Jessica Venegas and I grew up at PCHAS in Waxahachie. I recently graduated college last month, and I received a gift card from you by mail and I can’t express to you how much your thoughtfulness means to me. I didn’t have parent’s growing up, and after I left the home and had four children, I can proudly say I was able to graduate college. I wanted y’all to know that I could not have done so without your continuous help and encouragement. Everyone who stands for PCHAS and their churches has made me who I am today, and I hope to continue to make y’all proud. Your generous gift was a big help in preparing for the second part of my education in starting the nursing program and I am so grateful to you for that! Thank you! I cannot wait to pay it forward!
