Waxahachie Single Parent Family Program Hosts Open House

Single Parent FamilyPresbyterian Children’s Homes and Services (PCHAS) is expanding its Single Parent Family Program in May 2014 by opening a new home in Waxahachie, Texas. The new location will be able to serve nine single mothers and their children who are facing homelessness due to crisis. An Open House ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 to commemorate the newest addition to the Single Parent Family Program. Presentations and tours will take place on an hourly basis at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. During the event visitors can meet the staff and volunteers who make running the house possible and see the home where families will live and grow. The event provides a wonderful opportunity to learn about the children and families that PCHAS serves and to witness how PCHAS works with the community to create an environment where single mothers feel safe and supported. Visitors can also learn about the many volunteer partnerships available and about how you can help PCHAS serve these single mothers and their children. Please RSVP via email to Cyndi Fuller at Cyndi.Fuller@pchas.org or call 972.937.1319 to receive more information. About the Single Parent Family Program The program is designed to help single mothers who are facing homelessness due to poverty, abuse, divorce, incarceration, abandonment, violence or other crisis. PCHAS’ goal is to give these women a chance to become strong and self-sufficient without constantly fearing for their and their children’s survival and safety. Women participating in our residential homes in Weatherford and Waxahachie, Texas are able to stay from 9 to 15 months, as they work towards achieving personal goals and ultimately independence. The program provides employment assistance, individual counseling, case management and therapy for mothers and children, and money management and life skills training and much more.
