Five Reasons to Donate to PCHAS

Please-help-webEach year over 65,000 Texas children suffer from abuse, abandonment and neglect. Presbyterian Children’s Homes and Services’ educated and experienced staff serves over 4,500 children and families each year through our life-changing programs with proven success. Here are 5 reasons why you should consider donating to PCHAS this year.

1. The children and families that we serve have experienced things that no one should ever have to endure and they need your care and support.

Each year, nearly 500,000 children in the United States are temporarily or permanently removed from their parents’ care for reasons such as neglect, abandonment and abuse. Many have been through traumatic experiences and are deeply wounded physically, emotionally, or both. Our many programs and services are designed to provide children and families in crisis with the care and structure that they need, but we need your support to help us achieve that.

2. PCHAS employees consider their work a ministry.

Our mission is to provide Christ-centered care and support to children and families in need. We believe that God has a special plan for each and every child and our employees do everything in their power to help them discover God’s plan for their lives. They strive to provide the children and families we serve with the love, support and prayers they desperately deserve.

3. PCHAS does everything in its power to help children succeed.

At PCHAS we want every child to succeed not only academically, but also socially and emotionally as well. Education provides a sense of accomplishment and empowerment to children in dysfunctional situations, so our staff and volunteers spend countless hours supporting, mentoring and advocating for the children in our care. We strive to create opportunities for young people to have a future with hope and possibilities.

4. Our volunteers are dedicated to bringing hope to the lives of children and families. Show them your appreciation with a gift!

More than 600 volunteers serve as positive role models to the children and families we serve. They have a passion for sharing God’s love with others. Last year, PCHAS volunteers donated 8,870 hours of service to make sure that everyone we served felt loved and cherished, and they did it all for free! Support their amazing work by donating to PCHAS today!

5. PCHAS is like one big family.

At PCHAS, the children and families we serve are part of our family. PCHAS employees are compassionate and enthusiastic about what they do. They genuinely care, not only about PCHAS clients, but about each other as well. When you donate to PCHAS, you can become a member of our big, happy family.
