Mrs. Green’s Story

Mrs. Green’s Story

Our story begins when we were in PCHAS’ training program for foster parents my husband and I prayed, “God help us to make a difference by providing a safe and stable home for a child who don’t have one.” As foster parents, we are blessed to have been given the opportunity to make a difference in Sarah’s life. By the time Sarah came to live us, she had been in more than twelve foster homes since she was three years old. Studies show that each time children are “bounced” from one home to another, it compounds the emotional trauma they’ve been through fall six months behind in school. No wonder only 46% of children in foster care graduate from high school.  Since Sarah came to live with us, she has caught up academically and has received several scholarships to attend college.  We’ve seen her happiness and have been so happy for her. We’re really proud of what Sarah has accomplished with her life, and, to tell the truth, we are proud of ourselves, too.
